Icdas Bekirli Thermal Power Plant

İCDAS entered into energy sector initially by commissioning its first 135 MW power station to meet the energy needs of its own facilities in 2005. Seeing the supply deficit of Turkey in electrical energy production, ICDAS has strengthen its position in the energy sector by erecting 2 new 135 MW power stations in the following years, giving a grand total of 405 MW installed capacity.

ICDAS POWER PLANTS
In our power plants; fluidized-bed combustion technology is used, which is a clean coal technology. Coal is used as the main fuel and natural gas as auxiliary fuel in our plant. Coal is transferred from the stock area into the boiler through an enclosed conveyer belt system. Coal is burned inside the fluidized bed boiler with the addition of limestone. The gases emitted as a result of combustion pass through the electrostatic dust-holding filters and then directed to the chimney as dust-free. Besides achieving better coal burning with the fluidized bed combustion technology, the SO2 and NOx emissions remain below the desired limits in terms of environmental requirements due to the added limestone and the low burning temperature respectively.

ICDAS has broken new grounds with the HEPSs installed on the cooling water return lines of each power plant in order to meet the internal requirements of them, and increased the production capacity by 3.6 MW with this efficiency project.
